Cheesy Goodness
I am a Cheetos addict…and I am not ashamed to say it. My addiction to cheetos began one fateful day during middle school. On this particular day, I had to stay after school for choir rehearsal and was in desperate need of food. Growing up in a very health and weight conscious family, I usually veered away from eating snacks and junk food but on this day I was desperate. So, I made the long trek across my middle school to the two vending machines it possessed. Hmmm what looked good? Nothing really… because what I really wanted was one of my mom’s hot, home cooked meals. Instead I settled for a bag of Cheetos. As I retrieved my snack of choice from the vending machine, I was completely oblivious to deep and meaningful relationship that would forever develop between me and Cheetos.
I’m sure everyone has seen, heard about or eaten Cheetos at some point in their life. But for those who haven’t, Cheetos are basically a crunchy, cheese flavored, cornmeal snack that were first introduced in 1948 by the Frito Company. This yummy snack belongs to the “chip” family of snacks and comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and flavors. For example, Cheetos can be eaten in the form of crisps, puffs, doodles, balls, paws and comes in flavors such as flaming hot, flaming hot lime and cheddar jalapeño. Personally, I love the natural cheesy goodness of original Cheetos but any type of Cheetos is amazing regardless.
Despite the epicness of Cheetos, I am currently enrolled in Cheetos rehab. Upon reaching the point of consuming one to two bags per day, I realized that I had a problem. I also realized that this may not have been the healthiest of lifestyles and might have contributed to the seven pounds I had gained. I now try to limit my Cheetos intake to one to two bags per week. I’ll never stop loving them though. There’s just something about that simple cheesy crisp that drives me crazy and always leave me wanting more.
